Kick-Off (KO) Meeting of the GEO-CRADLE project on February, 18 and 19, 2016.

The Kick-Off (KO) Meeting of the GEO-CRADLE project took  place at the IONIC CENTRE (Plaka, Athens) on February, 18 and 19, 2016.

The project Coordinating and integRating state-of-the-art Earth Observation Activities in the regions of North Africa, Middle East, and Balkans and Developing Links with GEO related initiatives towards GEOSS, GEO -CRADLE for short is the establishment of a regional coordination network that will enable the better utilisation of EO data and the development of EO services, and the effective involvement of the complete ecosystem of EO stakeholders, thereby providing the necessary elements towards addressing regional challenges.

The GEO-CRADLE consortium brings together 19 organisations as full partners, 5 organisations as “third-party” partners, and 2 organisations from collaborating countries. This allows covering the complete EO value chain, ensuring sufficient representation of the most important players in the RoI, and forming a highly complementary team that possesses the full range of skills and expertise necessary to carry out the proposed activities successfully. Moreover participation of the 4 international organisations, namely EURISY, EARSC, EGS, CEDARE as full partners, enables GEO-CRADLE to access a much wider network of countries and stakeholders.
